Christine's Wedding

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the beautiful wedding ceremony of one of my best college roommies. Christine is beautiful inside and out, so I have always wanted her to find someone as wonderful as she is.

We first got to meet Joey when David and I took time off for Christmas. Driving through Provo on our way back to Seattle, we stopped to have lunch with them. The moment I knew Joey could be the right one for Christine was when I saw them disagree together. They were telling the story of how they met, and they each felt portions of the story were a bit different. Christine has strong opinions she loves to confidently share so I believe she really needs someone who won't just be pushed around. Joey was firm, holding his ground, without being disrespectful or rude in any way. While discussing their differing opinions, Joey said, "No, that's not how it happened, I'm not giving you this one." and I felt Christine had finally found her match. Yep, I thought, this one's a keeper.

I was so excited for her when I got a text with this picture:

I owe a lot to Christine because she was my confidant who encouraged me to keep dating David. The first time she met David, Christine saw what a good match we could be. She told me she really liked this one because he was so sweet, and she wanted someone for me that was as sweet as me and would be sweet back. Christine encouraged me to keep dating David when I would get nervous. I thought it was weird we were both the same major and I didn't want to be one of those girls, so I told Christine I was thinking about breaking up with him and Christine told me that was a stupid reason to break up. She was right.

Here are pictures we took at the wedding:

They've thrown around the thought that maybe when he graduates and they start their careers they could end up in Seattle. We really hope they do.

My sister Torrey's Wedding to Hyrum

A couple weeks ago David and I took a trip just the two of us to Utah for my sister's wedding! Spending time in Utah was very special for me.  We left our three boys back home and our cousin Trevin watched them for us. (While we were gone, Trevin sent "proof of life" photos as well as several photos of their adventures so that we wouldn't worry about our kids.) We stayed with David's sister who recently moved to north Provo area. The evening before my sister's wedding we had a family dinner where we all got to make toasts for Torrey and Hyrum and celebrate them. Torrey told me that my husband's toast for her was one of her favorites.  I got to be there with Torrey and Hyrum in the Payson Utah Temple. I got to see family and catch up with old friends who have since moved to the Utah area. I loved being a part of Torrey's wedding and celebrating her and Hyrum meeting each other and being able to enter this next stage of life together and a married couple...

We are Utahn's now!

We've moved to Highland Utah and are enjoying this new chapter of our lives here! We have discovered that Utah has lovely late summer/early falls. The weather is nice out each day and we are finding ourselves spending a lot of time outside. The kids ride bikes and scooters in the front yard in our cul-de-sac with the neighborhood kids. Our neighbors are warm and friendly. Now that we live on a flat street, Neil has learned how to ride a bike. We live near a paved bike trail called the Murdock trail that is amazing. We enjoy going to Neil's soccer games as a family. The doorbell rings every day with neighbor kids coming over to play. James was invited to his second-ever friend birthday party. Feel free to comment with what you like about where you live and your favorite things to do outdoors.

Birthday month for the boys!

Something fun in our home is that our boys all have May birthdays. We loved celebrating their birthdays with them and their friends this year. We tried to make each child's birthday special.  We also had a neighborhood community party!
