Neil's 2nd birthday

Mr. Neil recently turned 2! We celebrated at my parent's home with a big group of family and friends. My favorite moment of the party was watching Neil take a big plate of food over to one of the lawn chairs, watching him lie down setting the plate on his chest, and then watching him watch the party as he happily munched on his carrots and pizza. We are grateful for the family and friends we were able to celebrate with! Milestone-wise, Neil is a good talker (really loves communicating his wants and needs), a good helper (can follow two-part directions and enjoys helping mom or dad put soap in the dishwasher, do laundry, wipe down the chairs, etc.), and a good sleeper (normally sleeps through the night and can put himself to bed).

Outside and enjoying the sunshine

Our family recently crossed the 1 year in Utah mark. We've really enjoyed exploring the area and being outside. We love going on the Murdock trail near our home.  Recently our oldest, Neil, went on his longest bike ride ever (a 20 mile trip!) and rode from where we live in Highland down to the Lindon temple (and back home).  The boys love biking and scootering and visiting the various parks nearby. We've been really happy with our ebike (a radwagon) and this past summer added a couple escooters (secondhand segway ninebots). Hope you've had a great summer.

Camping Adventure at Penrose Point State Park

This past weekend Mr. D and I went camping at Penrose Point State Park with a family we have been friends with for almost three years! We decided to carpool there together with our camping gear and all seven of us in their van. After we got there, we made hotdogs for dinner, s’mores and cobbler for dessert, and enjoyed spending time together in front of the campfire. The following morning we walked over to the water and had fun discovering crabs in the rocks. Here are some of the photos from the trip: Checking out an alive sand dollar  Looking for crabs on the water  Crazy tree and roots This was the website we used to book the reservation: https://washington.goingtocamp.com/PenrosePointStatePark -Mr. D and Mrs. M
