Decorating our Home

Mr. D and I have been decorating our home the past few months, and we both agree it's in a state we are really happy with. (In case you want to remember some of the pictures from before, you can look at our prior home post here.)
Family room
In our family room we hung pictures from unsplash.com, a site that posts 10 free use images every 10 days.
Kitchen
Birds
In our dining area, we found several decorations to place on the walls. For a long while all we had were the bird picture and mirror, both on the ground next to the walls, but with the help of my mom we were able to find additional pieces to go along with them. We really like the frames that we can put up pictures to with mini clothespins.
Frames
For these frames, Mr. D and I had a craft night where we bought chicken wire, burlap, and clothespins to hang pictures of people we love on the wall.
Dining Area
We purchased a new light fixture in our dining area. Our old one was wrapped in fabric on the outside that colored the light yellow, which I hated, so when I saw this one after searching for months I knew I had to have it. David let me do the electrical work for it, which involved capping and taping the wires.
Bedroom
Upstairs we replaced my college bedspread with a grey duvet and added an over-sized mirror for me to use when I'm getting ready. We also replaced our curtains with blackout ones. Normally I'm the one who can sleep-in on the weekends, but with these curtains Mr. D can out sleep me.

We love our home. :)

Come visit us in Utah and stay in our Primary Suite

Back in July, David and I looked at homes as we considered moving here to Utah. One feature that was a little bit unique about our home we ended up picking, is that it has two primary bedrooms (one on the main floor and second one upstairs). We thought it would make sense for each of our three boys to have their own rooms upstairs (with us on the main floor), but that meant one of them would get the primary suite, which seemed a little much to us. We decided that our oldest son could have the big bedroom, but told him that he would need to share it when we have guests over. So far the arrangement has been working well.  We were hopeful my parents (who still live in the Seattle area we left) would visit us often as well as my sister and her husband who currently live in Texas. We added a king bed and have been using it to lure our family members into visiting us. We are pleased to share that we've gotten to host them several times. At Christmas we got a little creative with our extr...

Sean and Eunice's wedding celebration!

This past weekend we got to celebrate with our friends Sean and Eunice at their wedding! With help from our nanny, my brother and his wife, and a babysitter, we were able to trust that our kids would be okay back home for the weekend. Based on the photo below, can you guess what airport we flew to? We flew from Provo to Portland! I guess this carpet has been teased as very ugly and it was a trend a while back to take photos of your feet with the carpet when you pass through the Portland airport on social media. Most of the carpet has been replaced at the airport and the Portland airport has also been significantly beautified since.  We got to see many people we love. On Saturday before the meet and greet at the wedding, we were able to hike a section of the Pacific Coast Trail, a trail that goes thru the United States from Mexico to Canada ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Crest_Trail ) with our friend Dan.  The connection of us to Sean and Eunice and a subgroup of the g...
